Introduction :
Incontineence Associated Dermatitis (IAD) is a significant skin problem among patients in ICU. The reasons are multi-factorials, it may be due to the side effect caused by some medical treatment that cannot be stopped, compromised mobility, cognitive impairment and malnutrition . The negative impact of IAD including pain and discomfort, sleep disturbance, increases the risk of pressure injury and perianal wound infection, gaining nosocomial infections. All these will have negative influence on the length of stay in hospital. Moreover, to take care patients with IAD will increase nurses’ workload.

However the prevalence of IAD were underestimate, because the awareness of staffs were low. Currently there is no regular assessment, skin care guideline nor documentation in our unit. Therefore for patients’ benefit, it is worth to do this project in order to provide a better care for our patients.
Objectives :
Improve staff's knowledge and skill on assessment of IAD for critically ill patient by introduce assessment tools and develop a standardized skin care regime via an educational program.
Methodology :
1) Using pre & post survey to measure any improvement on staff's knowledge and skill on care of patient with IAD.

2) Establish a standard assessment tool & caring regime to identify the patient with IAD.
Result & Outcome :
Staff's knowledge is graded by two components which are self-evaluated and knowledge test. Chi-square test was used to compare pre and post responses, with significance set at P< 0.05. No matching between pre and post responses was undertaken as it was an anonymous survey. Total 100 staff (pre-survey) & 90 staff (post survey) are recruited and it is found that there are significant increased both on staff's self-evaluated and actual knowledge test on IAD management (p< 0.001).
