Introduction :
Positive workplace culture generates positive outcomes for both the nursing team and patients. To promulgate the positive culture, the working group of “We Love We Care” has initiated a series of innovative strategies which includes the newly designed “WhatsApp stickers” and “Smart kit".
Objectives :
- To establish “We Love We Care Ward Ambassadors” team to perform the role in promulgation of positive workplace culture;

- To launch the "Smart kit" and "WhatsApp stickers" to facilitate positive social connections and appreciation among the nursing team at work;

- To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions.
Methodology :
"Smart Kit" and "WhatsApp’s Stickers" have been designed for the We Love We Care ambassadors. It aims to help the ambassadors to promote a positive workplace culture.

"Smart Kit" is a series of 8 pocket-sized cards. Encouraging wordings and pictures have been printed on the card. QR code regarding stress- relieving strategies were also included.

Since telecommunication is easily accessible, “WhatsApp Stickers” with encouraging wordings have also been designed for the ambassadors to download. Ambassadors could make use of these encouraging words and send the relevant WhatsApp stickers to the colleagues whenever appropriate.

Briefing sessions have been conducted for ambassadors to let them understand their mission and role. To recognize their status, a nomination certificate was presented. The use of the tools ("Smart Kits" and "WhatsApp Stickers”) has also been introduced.

To further enhance the promulgation of positive workplace culture, 5 sharing sessions were conducted in nurse graduates’ orientation programs and care-related staff enhancement programs in 2019. Good practice and team building was emphasized.
Result & Outcome :
In the year 2019, there was a total of 8 sessions of training or sharing sessions conducted with over 250 participants. The surveys with a 5-point Likert scale were held after each session. The response of the participants was positive. Besides, the hit rate of WhatsApp Stickers was over 4290 till December 2019.

Conclusion

Building a positive workplace culture is an ongoing process. Innovative strategies to promulgate the culture could definitely help to build up a harmonious nursing team with the aim of providing quality care to patients.
