Introduction :
Strategic and colleague-dedicated scheme draws ahead to explore risk elements affiliating with the principles of Occupational Safety and Health.

A cross-the-board clinics Environmental Safety Round (ESR) acts for a wide assortment in alliance with staff from 13 General Out-patient Clinics (GOPCs) in Kowloon West Cluster to enlarge staff knowledge base, allow room for improvement and enhance the scope in clinical management.
Objectives :
It aims at supporting the clinics to execute measures under theoretical ground to safeguard and secure one’s safety, health and privacy in clinic compound. The ESR which enhances opportunities for local team and cross team a learning process and adopts in the excellent model among GOPCs. The three main themes were being prioritized to tackle current clinical trends: Fever Room, Display Screen Equipment (DSE), and Clinical Waste Management Plan (CWMP).
Methodology :
Pre-designed Assessment checklists on three aspects, Fever Room, DSE and CWMP, were tailor-made to GOPCs and were given to all clinics in advance with alignment of HA direction. The ESR team comprised of management, designated assessors and nurse representatives from cross GOPCs. A structured 6-days-clinic-visit was mapped out for 13 clinics in August and September 2019. During the ESR, local responsible nurses presented their current clinical settings and measures and provided records for review. A debriefing session shared after each visit to summarize the highlights among visit teams. A report concerning the follow up actions will be shared by local GOPCs as well as management level for future initiatives.
Result & Outcome :
ESR contributes and sledgehammers a revolutionary change. Majority of results are above satisfaction and some modifications are reviewed according to the real individualized clinical limitations.

An exchange of ideas amongst clinics facilitates mutual benefits and mutual concessions. This staff engagement activity enables chain management to drive all staff to step forwards and maximize their vision to pave the way towards future theme success.
