Introduction :
A large emphasis of the Specialist Support Service is that of the provision of staff training. The rationale of this is to provide the staff with the necessary skills and knowledge required in daily operation.
Objectives :
To enhance staff alertness in Risk Management and handling special events in daily operation.
Methodology :
5 numbers of in-house staff training sessions conducted by Advanced Practice Nurses as follows:
(1) Radiation Safety and Blood Transfusion
(2) Suicidal Assessment and Interventions
(3) Nursing Management for Chemo. Induced Neutropenic febrile patients
(4) Sharing clinical incidents and risk management
(5) Prevention of Pressure Injury and Fall patients
Result & Outcome :
There were total 40 participants and they agreed that the “In-house Staff Training” were satisfactory. Besides, they agreed that they had enhanced their alertness of risk management in oncology ward.
The significant changes in decreasing trend of Pressure Injury and Fall noted after implementation in an Oncology ward. Nil suicidal attempt case.
