Objectives :
Modification of nursing routine on patient bathing time to make use of the augmented manpower during overlapping AM and PM shift hours
Methodology :
Engage the nursing colleages, ward supervisors during the planning stage Discuss amongst the working group members and devise the plan : - Change the bathing routine from the busy AM shift to overlapping hours of AM/PM shift - Make use of the maximum manpower of both shifts staff to perform the bathing procedure in groups to enhance the workflow - Ensure adequate staff to continue ward patrol and discharge other nursing duties like handling of patient admission / phone enquires Consult staff and supervisors’ comment to refine the plan Pilot in 2 wards after briefing sessions to nursing and supporting colleageus Evaulate and debrief the report to the colleages involved to celebrate the success
Result & Outcome :
Improve work efficiency; Improve patient satisfaction while patient safety is also assured
Evaluation survey done after 3- month pilot with encouraging feedback
