Introduction :
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) refers to the cluster of viral pneumonia cases with the pandemic outbreak in Hong Kong in early 2020, staff was facing high stress due to the lack of knowledge about COVID-19 and insufficient PPE support. Frontline staff training in managing COVID-19 and their stress is needed. Tseung Kwan O Hospital (TKOH) Occupation Therapy Department adopted a F.A.D.E. model to analysis the service gap and made improvement accordingly.
Objectives :
To review the existing situation and to enhance department internal training in order to reduce staff stress and enrich the case management of patient with COVID-19 by using a quality and safety model (F.A.D.E.)
Methodology :
Focus (F): Manage staff stress level and uncertainty

Analysis(A): A tailor made survey was conducted to 25 Occupational therapists with items related to COVID-19, including 1) their perceived level of knowledge and treatment concept about COVID-19, 2) the effectiveness of communication platform in the department, 3) the sufficiency of resources provided by the department and 4) their stress level when managing COVID-19 patients.

Develop (D): Development done in TKOH occupational therapy department during this pandemic
1) Case management for COVID
 Dirty team was formed to manage COVID-19 patients and patients under surveillance
 Regular information sharing session was held to share disease knowledge, medical and occupational therapy management and case management sharing
 Regular update the clinical routine in department meeting
2) Communication platform enhancement
 Provide platform in regular departmental meeting
 Provide COVID-19 information databank
3) Support on PPE
 Central distribution of the PPE materials and mask to ensure all staff have sufficient PPE
 Tailor made eye shield for staff in early 2020
4) Infection control measures in department
 Provide lunch area with individual partition
 Allow flexible lunch hour
 Review and update the infection control measures in department
Result & Outcome :
Staff stress level was reduced by 40%. Confidence in providing treatment to COVID-19 patients was improved by 30%. 80% staff agreed the communication platform in the department was well done.
