Dr Chung is currently the Director of Quality and Safety of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority. Under his leaderships, the Quality & Safety Division oversees the quality standards, patient safety, clinical incident management, patient relations management, healthcare technology assessment, disasters response and infection control for the public hospitals under the Hospital Authority. Dr Chung is a specialist in Emergency Medicine. Prior to his current appointment, he has been the Hospital Chief Executive of North District Hospital from 2016 to 2018, Chief Manager at Hospital Authority Head Office from 2012 to 2016 and the Hospital Chief Executive of Castle Peak Hospital from 2008 to 2012.
