CV
Dr. Owen Tsang graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1992. He received training in Infectious Diseases in Princess Margaret Hospital, Hong Kong & Guy’s & St Thomas Hospital, London, UK. He obtained his Master degree in Tropical Health in 1995 from the University of Queensland, Australia, Diploma in Topical Medicine and Hygiene from the University of London, UK in 2005 and Master of Science in Infectious Disease from the University of London, UK in 2008. Dr Tsang is currently the consultant of the Department of Medicine & Geriatrics, Princess Margaret Hospital and the Medical Director of the Hospital Authority Infectious Disease Centre at PMH. He has been engaged in the combat of multiple community outbreaks including COVID-19, SARS, Avian influenza H5N1, H7N9, pandemic swine influenza H1N1. He has also helped in the preparedness of global outbreaks of MERS and Ebola. He is the chairman of the Task Force on Clinical Management of the Hospital Authority Head Office. Dr Tsang is also a member of the Scientific Committees on AIDS & Sexually Transmitted Infections, and Vaccine Preventable Diseases, Centre for Health Protection and the Hong Kong Society for HIV Medicine. He is also the honorary clinical associate professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was involved in the training activities organized by the Clinical Management Team of the World Health Organization. His main areas of interest include coronavirus, HIV, norovirus infection, hepatitis, tropical infections, hospital infections and other infectious diseases. He has authored various publications in local & International journals and book chapters.
