Overview
CV
Michael Krasner MD, FACP, Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, practices primary care and teaches Mindfulness-Based programs to patients, medical students, and health professionals involving more than 4000 participants over the past 20 years. He directed Mindful Communication: Bringing Intention, Attention, and Reflection to Clinical Practice, sponsored by the American College of Physicians resulting in 2009 with a seminal article published in JAMA describing its impact on physician well-being and patient-centered qualities, leading to the establishment of Mindful Practice Programs at the University of Rochester. His research has investigated the effects of mindfulness on immunity, psoriasis, and well-being of caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients. Graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and completing Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residencies at the University of Rochester, he is currently full-time faculty and shares his work in peer-reviewed publications, scientific assemblies, visiting professorships, and trainings worldwide, focusing on Hippocratic medicine and the cultivation of attention and awareness within healthcare relationships.
